| SF bankrolls red states, so STFU! | | |

| khakjaan | Nov 16, 2006 10:26am | | A city of 800k, with the highest per capita concentration of billionaires in the USA; also with the highest per capita income of a major metropolitan area- is being talked down-to again by our inferiors who take our tax money but talk shit about our life choices. Look at the deficits for the biggest tax subsidized states and you'll find they vote Republican and can't pay their own bills. These unemployed degenerates with obviously failed values dare judge San Francisco's values? Try paying your own bills before you start talking shit about your patron. |

They only seem to understand doggery (woof woof) and like a good San Franciscan with his eye on the bottom line and his core progressive values, it was pissing me off the way 'San Francisco Values' were being bandied about like a bad word. Yeah- really bad having one of the highest per capita entrepreneurial rates in the country. Horrible values that let other communities cut their homeless services, sending their undesirables to SF for treatment the Federal Government eschews. Horrible values that recognize equal rights for the LGBTetc community. Horrible values that subsidizes the state of California's budget, and the Federal government's earmarks. I'm sick of it. They need to STFU. They just don't like non-heteros.
ps: I am hetero, but grew up w/ several gay and lesbian couples on my street and continue to choose my friends by their character rather than by their sexuality. Anything less is uncivilized. I refuse to be judged by those less civilized than myself. |

I'm sick of the braggadaccio of 'red state' financial 'conservatism' while at the same time, balancing their budgets on Federal bux coming from our fair city. This town's GDP is roughly ~$50 bil, and it generates at least $20 bil in tax revenue, and the city's budget is only ~$5 bil. We carry the state- SoCal couldn't survive without our contribution to the state's surplus. I'd like to have a few years where we get to keep some of our suprlus money and rebuild freeways, bridges, public transit, parks, and improve public services. If those assholes in the red states don't like our values, then those jackasses should put their money where their mouths are. |
